Research Fellow Center for Quantum Materials Engineering
Wooil completed his Ph.D. in Physics at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) in 2022. He then joined the School of Computational Sciences at the Korea Institute for Advanced Study (KIAS) under the supervision of Prof. Young-Woo Son. During his time at KIAS, he spent one year as a visiting scholar at the Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences. He is currently a research fellow working with Prof. Feliciano Giustino.
His research interests include the application and extension of Hubbard-corrected density functional theory, including inter-site interactions. In particular, he focuses on polaron physics in correlated systems and on developing related modules in EPW, a first-principles code for calculating electron-phonon coupling and related properties.
